INNOREG

Meet the most modern & efficient regenerator solution in the market

Innovative Regenerator

The glass melting process requires large amounts of energy at high process temperatures – posing challenges in terms of emissions, refractory lifetime and mechanical stability. To use energy as efficiently as possible, regenerators have become a standard for heat recovery. Our INNOREG – Innovative Regenerator tackles all those challenges with one system, using optimal checker shapes and materials for highest possible stability while maximizing CO2 reduction and refractory lifetime.

Lower your CO2 emissions

Energy saving and high thermal efficiency are the basic requirements for CO2 emission reductions.

An appropriate material selection and optimized design, including the checkerwork shapes and regenerator casing are aimed to achieve the highest thermal efficiency, directly related to the highest combustion air preheating temperatures.

An improvement of 2% in the thermal efficiency means approx. 30°C increase of combustion air preheating temperature, which has a direct impact on the furnace fuel consumptions.

Key features

Complete regenerator

incl. checkerwork, transition tiles and rider arches, casing (crown and wall)

Smart design for rider arches
  • Two options available for fast installation: SBN shapes and Innoarch
  • Both solutions replace the traditional arch built with standard wedges assuring:
    – Fast installation time
    – No need to install a formwork in case of Innoarch
    – No need to cut bricks on site
    – No need to make flat the top of the arches using bricks and or castable.
Optimized material choice
  • Chrome corundum, Zirconia Mullite, Corundum, Magnesia, Magnesia Zircon and Spinel-bonded Magnesia for checkerwork to be selected according to the operating conditions
  • Andalusite for transition tiles and rider arches
  • Large portfolio of Mullite or magnesia grades for the casing, to be selected in order to combine the best corrosion resistance with the lowest investment costs.
Optimized checker shapes
  • Chimney block (TLW) with 14% or more increased heat exchange surface
  • Various channel width are available to realize the perfect compromise between efficiency and clogging risk.
  • Large Channel Piece (LCP) reducing the clogging risk through doubling the size of the regenerator channels
  • Double sized standard chimney block with a flue size of 322×142 mm to permit the transition from LCP shapes to chimney block

Advantages of chimney blocks

High availability & production capacity

Our plants of Mainzlar and Radenthein in Europe, Contagem in Brasil , Clasil and Rajgangpur in India and Dalian in China, ensure that we can provide you great availability, fast delivery times and high production capacities. Our experienced team is ready to support you in the accurate design of your INNOREG system – tailored to your individual specifications. Upon receiving the project data our team will provide you an accurate calculation of the thermal profile and assist you in the selection of the suitable materials and shapes.

New optimized checker shapes

We have introduced a large variety of shapes to meet the requirements of different operating conditions, while maintaining a high thermal efficiency

  • Chimney blocks with openings ranging from 120 to 170 mm; the smaller shapes are beneficial to increase the heat exchange area , especially recommended in case of low carry over (high share of cullet and/or high share of boosting) or low risk of sulphate condensation; the larger shapes are recommended in case of high batch carryover, especially if a batch preheater is installed.
  • TLW, TLX and TGX shapes with the relevant opening sizes to increase the exposed heat exchange area in the hot zone
  • Different sizes of LCP plates for the condensation zone to fit with varying openings of chimney blocks. They can be combined with TG/TL/TLW/TLX/TGX shapes when there is a high risk of clogging due to sulphate condensation
The combination of the different shapes can fulfill the needs of different furnace operations, assuring high thermal efficiency and low maintenance efforts along the complete furnace campaign.
